Has anyone already changed tyres?
« on: March 13, 2013, 03:49:59 PM »
I would like to know if anyone has already changed the new Trophy's tyres (Pirelli Angel ST in mine, I suppose it's the same for everyone), to have an idea of how many kilometres/miles they may last, as I'm plannnig a trip to the Alps next June, and I don't want to run out of tyres in the middle of it :164:

I've got a ride planned in September to Spain. I will fit a new set of tyres for the trip and replace the old units on my return to get the full use if they are not worn out at this point.
Its not very hard or costly job and gives piece of mind.

I've decided to the same thing, I think it's better and safer! :084:

I agree with Chaos If I am of to Europe  ( mostly to Spain ) I will fit a new set  run them in and then re use the old ones if any tread left .Its proven that most puntures occure  during the last part of tyre wear   .

Hi there,
My wife a I have spent the last 4 British winters in Spain, and other parts of Europe  from November to April. There are some great rides in Spain, you'll enjoy it no end, we love it. We carry a 300 SYM on a bike rack on the back of our motorhome, we have clock up over 22000 miles on the bike, next November we are going to take a Trophy on/in a trailer, we are just on our way home now. Just a little word of advise, IF!! you have to ride after dark stick to the motorways and the relatively new roads, as they are not too quick at repairing roads in Spain, and some of the pothole's are very deep and will have you off if you hit one, they are death traps, apart from that it's a great place for biking, no parking worries there, and you'll have some fun on that great machine, I can't wait to get the Trophy. Been stopped once or twice my the police, but they have been fine.
Have a good trip and take care.

I've already done 7.000 km, the last 1.000 at the Pyrenees and the back tyre is nearly flat, so perhaps it may last another 500 km, but not much more :084:
