Hello - Loving my 14 Trophy SE
« on: June 23, 2014, 11:05:05 pm »
I just joined this forum and wanted to say hi.  I purchased a 14 Trophy from Moto Europa in St Louis, MO a couple of months ago.  My wife and I just rode 180 miles one way to have the 500 mile service done.  Two up with our gear for an overnight stay and running 70 on the Interstate we got 48.3 mpg.  I find that quite good.

Anyway this is my first Triumph but not my first bike.  Several years ago I took Freddie Spencer's two day track school at Las Vegas.  Actually I took it three times and loved it every time.  Ever since then the type of bike and riding I do has gone from being a Harley rider, I have a 11 Street Glide I am trying to sell, to one more in tune with sport touring.  I just sold a 06 Honda St 1300 to make room for the Trophy.  This is going to be a good one.

I turn 60 in July and hope to start slowing down in a couple of years.  When I do I plan on spending a lot more time on the Trophy.   If you are ever in the St Louis area and need to find a dealer be sure and look up Moto Europa.  They are a smaller shop selling Triumph, Ducati and KTM.  They are great group.   Enough about me other than saying Hi and looking forward to learning from everyone on this forum.  Keep the shiny side up! :158:

I understand where you're coming from! When I had a cruiser by lower back was always sore. I read "Proficient Motorcycling" by David Hough and learn about standard seating. I've never been back to a cruiser.
Enjoy that Trophy. I absolutely love mine!
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.

Welcome Plainsrider.  You've bought the wrong bike for slowing down.
Don't grow up, it's a trap...

Doesn't yours brake well? :001:

Just a few  years ago, I would not  consider buying a Triumph. Then they make the TTSE and there was no way I could resist that.

Welcome.. I too just bought my TT SE and am loving it.  With each ride it just gets better.  I am going to be taking it into the Canadian Rockies  soon and can't wait.
