Hi Phil,

I have read many different discussions regarding this issue. I was also getting this warning randomly, along with other random electrical issues. I finally pulled the battery and noticed it was not like any other Yuasa YTX20L-BS that I have owned (the same battery was used on my Honda VTX 1800).

I ordered a new battery on Amazon, set it up and charged it properly, installed and all my issues went away. I am not saying this will solve your issue, but it definitely fixed my issues.

I am not sure if this battery came from Triumph England or was dealer provided, but in any case it was definitely different. Different markings, no "Made In U.S.A.", different locations for the fill holes, etc.

Here are some photos. On the left is my stock Trophy battery, on the right is a standard battery that I purchased.

Interesting !

I wouldn't think the differences in labelling give much cause for concern,
but the whole top of the battery is different  :084:

There have been a number of issues reported of apparantly "duff" batteries.

I wonder if the type that failed on you is the same as everyone elses that failed,
and has now been updated by Yuasa to the version shown in your other Photo,
or worse, a batch of "fake" batteries somehow got into the supply chain to Triumph  :012: ???

Yuasa's main web site has a Contact Form -
Is it worth making an enquiry with them and sending them the Photo's ?

I did a little more research. The stock battery does seem to be a legit Yuasa battery from the Yuasa UK division. I was able to find this version of the battery on various UK websites.

I guess I just got a bad battery along with many others.

The original batteries come with a code on them designating them as the original battery.  If you can't find it ask your Triumph dealer to help you.  He shouldn't charge you anything.
