Northumberland trip planning
« on: June 24, 2014, 08:34:56 am »
Hi there ...

Am planning a week touring around the Northumberland area. Any suggestions on roads and places to go visit? Hoping to get up to Edinburgh, staying near Wooler. If this weather lasts it will be ideal!

Thanks all.  :002:

Simbad

The world or rides are your oyster when up there. Look at Alston on the map then basically any direction from there is great. Over hartside pass stopping at the Hartside café then dropping down towards penrith and then into the lakes.
Or across to jedbrough over "Carter Bar" brilliant road.
Kelder reservoir it is endless. You can covera great area in that time.

Enjoy

I've been doing just that today, riding in Northumberland that is.

Virtually any road you take will be a joy.  Going all the way to Edinburgh you will encounter many Safety Cameras.

I rode the military road from Hexham to Carlisle and came back on the A69 to Sunny South Shields on the longest run I've done on my TTSE and loved it, some awesome overtakes, whilst Dolly sang to me from Glastonbury over the bikes radio, perfect!
