About 50 % of the time I start my bike, the windshield stays in the down position, does not return to it's previous location. I must press the button and return it to where I like it. It always goes down when I shut the bike off. Has anyone else experienced this?

Many of us have had flakeyness with the shield.  On occasion, mine has failed to want to come up without a shove.  Once, if did not work at all until I shut down and restarted.   Lately it's begun to be sluggish to rise at speed....   Personally, I wish it did not 'park' when shut off, makes it a pain to clean the inside of the shield..

By the way, watch out that the c-clips on the end of the pins on the shield mount don't get caught in a rag and fly off when you are cleaning the inside... can happen easily....

My problem was it would not lower.   On a motorway(freeway) I usually have the screen up and lower it when hitting traffic in town.   It would start to lower stop and then bounce back up to it top position.    Bike is under  guarantee so it went back to the shop and the problem seems to be solved.

If the battery voltage is too low it shuts off the radio and also stops the windshield until the battery comes back up. (That's in the manual somewhere)
I experienced this once when it was 29(F) degrees outside.   After riding about 3 or 4 minutes the screen worked.  I'm assuming the battery voltage was way low because the bike and battery was cold.

you will find many threads on this. In my opinion, the finger trapping mechanism is near the edge of tolerance. I personally think it is a design fault.
