Welcome to the forum!
The Tiger 1050 is a sweet ride. I can understand your conundrum. I only ever took the 1050 for a test ride and I liked it very much.
I love my Trophy. Have you taken one out for a test? That will certainly help you make up your mind.
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.

Welcome to the Forum :400:  as Bludy L says the Tiger is a nice ride but its a different bike for a different kind of ride.  If you want comfortable long distance maintenance free (gotta love the drive shaft) riding choose the Trophy.  Of course when I say maintenance free I mean as the Trophy is intended to operate.  Not the unexpected defect  issues which Triumph is working to correct.

Welcome from the other end of California!  To me, the choice would be easy - if I'm looking to hit some dirt roads, the Tiger, otherwise, hard to beat the Trophy!  Besides, you get the side benefit of the best forum anywhere!

Hi j8057 and  :400: to the Forum !

It's inevitable that if you take a Test Ride, you will want to buy one  :169:

After the Test Ride it would  be an interesting read,
if you were to post up your comparison between the Trophy and your Tiger.

LOADS of information in here to help you make up your mind,
and if you can't find anything after using the "Search" facility,
just ask a question in an appropriate Section, and one of our friendly, helpful members
will be along to provide the answer(s)  :169:

Cheers,

I came from a 1050 tiger and believe it or not the Trophy handles better and has more ground clearance and obviously better weather protection, no more wind buffeting. Also having only a 31" inside leg I find the trophy easier to handle at slow speeds but I did prefer the 1050 engine it revs easier and generally feels more sporty. Got about 50 mpg with the Tiger and I am getting 58mpg from the Trophy. Hope that helps but you need to try it for yourself.
