Tripps is here
« on: July 06, 2014, 01:40:51 pm »
Hi, folks, just signed on. I am considering the Trophy, but I thought I'd wait a year or two and let the bugs get worked out. Also considering a R1200RT, but I currently own 6 bikes, 3 of them Triumphs, so I'm a bit partial. I have a Rocket Touring, but I hotrodded it with a Carpenter kit, it's a bit loud and gas thirsty for touring, plus my wife doesn't do long distance trips with me like I envisioned, so it's way more than I need/want for cross country trips. Recently traveled with a friend who had the R1200RT, so I'm leaning towards picking up a sport/touring bike.
Too much motor, not enough transmission.

Welcome to the group, Tripps!  Test ride, test ride, test ride...  If you buy a recently-built 2014, most of the bugs should be gone!  Even so, my Nov '12 built bike has been terrific.  Besides, you've got the best support crew here in this forum!

Welcome! The bugs are worked out, carpe diem.
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.
