So long for now...
« on: July 11, 2014, 04:45:53 am »
Sorry to say that after 6 months with my Trophy I am done. :110:

I have been chasing too many gremlins on this bike, I just can't rely on it. I commute daily via motorcycle, so I need a bike that just runs reliably.

This was my first Triumph and I really did like it, even more than any of the Hondas I have owned in the past, but I need that Honda reliability. Tonight I purchased the Honda Goldwing F6B and will be picking it up in a week.

Once I get the last of the oil leaks taken care of on the Trophy (currently on my 4th leak), I will be putting it up for sale.

This site has been a great source of information and I appreciate all who have contributed to the site. I have found the answer to every question I had about the bike here.

Thanks again and ride safe!  :028:

Sorry the TT hasn't been as reliable for you as it has for me!  It's been my commuter for a year now, and hasn't even hinted at stranding me yet.  Wish you better times on the F6B!

I'm sorry you didn't get what you paid for...    I waited for the 14' because I knew there would be bugs with any "new" model of anything.  Did you have several various issues?  I haven't had any MAJOR problems, but, (I like the bike very much), hopefully I will have zero major issues.  I don't understand why there are wide quality control variances between "Great" bikes, no problems (some 2013 models) and some 2014 models having enough problems that some are giving up???

Regards

Yes, I also waited for a 2014 hoping that I would have a trouble-free bike. It didn't work out that way for me. No major issues, but *way* too many minor ones. The biggest issue is that I don't trust the bike and at this point I don't think that trust will ever return. So time to move on.

All of these minor issues have been resolved and I will sell the bike with confidence that I am not passing on my problems to someone else.

The other issue is my Triumph dealer (who is very good) is 1.5 hours away. So in order to not have any downtime I had to fix all these issues myself out of pocket. My Honda dealer is 3 miles away and is also very good.

I hope everyone has a much better Triumph experience than I did.  :002:

Sorry to hear that, Terry.
Seems like most people on this forum are really happy with their TTSE's.
Maybe you got a lemon? A Monday morning special?  :002:
Hope you have lots of trouble-free miles on your F6B!
