Riding Triumph in California
« on: July 12, 2014, 02:51:26 pm »
Greetings from So California.  After many months of test rides and contemplating being the only guy in the crowd with a Triumph I pulled the trigger on a new 2014 Trophy SE.  Local dealer, Douglas Motorcycles, made me a great deal and has been very supportive in the process.  Have just over 100 miles on the bike and am getting used to all of the features.  Love the power and handling.  Will be putting on about 300 over the weekend with a trip to San Diego and the surrounding countryside.  Looking forward to reading other posts and learning more about the bike.  I did spend quite a bit of time reading many of the posts (good/bad) and found them helpful in my decision to buy this bike.  I do have another Triumph, 2010 Bonneville T100 so I am not totally unfamiliar with the brand.  The Bonnie is a fun bike but I wanted something for longer rides that had all of the creature comforts.  So far very impressed!

Welcome.  :158:

My other bike is a Bonneville as well. Good combination.  Bonne for local trips to the store.  TTSE for cruising.

welcome to the Club  :821: hope you've found the proper dealer as it seems to me that our North American friends are far less lucky than we are on this side of the pond in this respect

Welcome to the forum from a fellow SoCal'er!  Yep, you're gonna love this bike - I just wish I had more time for the longer rides, as it gets mostly commuter duty out here in Ventura County, but I've managed to put over 10k on it in a year, including a couple 1,000 mile trips so far. It's been a great bike for me so far!  Enjoy!
