Glovebox not locking
« on: July 14, 2014, 12:25:48 pm »
Perhaps a new issue....but my glovebox is not staying close....so a little duck tape on it....gonna call the dealer but anyone have this issue.  A search doesn't seem to turn anything up.

I've not seen that one yet. Good luck.
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.

Same issue, I managed to close it by lifting the tab inside with my finger to pull the catch up and then it closes.  Im getting it changed under warranty

I thought some people ahd had problems with unlocking but not locking.  Seems like something to look out for.

Just a theory, but I understand the glove box lock works via magnetic forces: isn’t Toronto up near the North Pole somewhere?  Thus, more susceptible to odd strong magnetic earth fields/forces that could affect the glove box magnetic locking mechanism?

So, try moving south to the States and see if it helps...if nothing else, you’ll have a longer riding season to ponder the glove box issue!

(OK, I know Toronto isn't up near the North Pole, 'cause the Yankees wouldn't travel that far north to beat the Blue Jays, but always fun to rile up my fellow North Americans cousins in the Great White North, eh!).

Shouldn't you be from Manhattan, NY?  Your profile shows Manhattan KS :002:

You might have something there....my bike actually came from Austin TX....so perhaps being closer to the better pole is causing some issues!
