I dont find that philosophy atractive.
Comparing any manufacturing to the current BM woes is like using the lowest score as your benchmark. BM is in deep sheet at the motto manufacuring level.
In a sense, similar to TT: a superb 1600GT design full of bugs. The TT is the dream design of sport touring bikes but to my taste and needs, has had too many bugs so far.
I know Triumph pride reigns on owner boards, but the Japanese bikes outscores EU manufacturers in reliability by a huge margin...tis the reason why I am riding on an FJR with zero problems, though it is a bike I really don't like that much.
But, I like the TT better than any other bike I have ever own. I just cant afford the time to be taking care of mech quirks...especially after shelling that kind of money.
So I keep checking every yr.
As a side opinion, if the EU models dont come to high manufacturing standards pretty soon they are gonna fall to the trend that Harley fell into in the 70s: the consumer is gonna think of them as sheetta bikes....which by the way, its the impression even diehard owners now have as consequences of the manufacturing GT BMW fiasco.
I rather expect Triumph's classy reputation to come up to higher standards--rather than comparing it with the flooked up BMs
