Another one bites the dust
« on: July 30, 2014, 06:17:23 am »
After 40,000 fabulous Kms on the Trophy I have just signed to trade it in. I have had a number of issues and I really don't want to have the Trophy when it runs out of warranty. It has been absolutely superb for touring, although going through some outback areas near Broken Hill recently I was trying to convince myself I still had complete confidence in it. Just before the trip I found it needed a new radiator and replacement drive shaft.

Also, touring is only about 30% of my riding so I have decided to get something a little more versatile while I still have some trade in value left.

I pick up a new Honda Crosstourer 1200 V4 in 2 days time with panniers, topbox and touring screen. A lot cheaper than the Trophy, hopefully more reliable.

Thank you to everybody here for the invaluable information  I have found in these pages and I wish you all happy riding.

Understand how you feel , thinking the same myself is it going to cost money now it's out of warranty or have they fixed the problems.
Understand BMW do a rolling 1 year warranty at about £350 for a gt1600 inc a service , do Triumph offer any extended warranty  :084: :084:

I checked with my dealer and also direct to Triumph warranty team.

They do not have an extended warranty scheme only on the head recall of 1yr extra on the engine.

Looks like a great bike, but sadly not available in the USA!!   Good luck, I have the same concerns about my TTSE, though I have nearly 24K miles with just the more minor of the bugs..
