couple of ?'s
« on: August 18, 2014, 05:05:36 pm »
first of all, it appears my TPM is reading the back for the front & vice versa. Anyone else had this happen, or know if there is a reset ? I checked my tire pressure before riding, back was fine, 42psi, front was at 40psi, so i let it down to 36psi. when i started bike, TPM warning came on, saying low rear tire pressure. i checked when i git home, back was 42, front was 36 ???  other question, do we need to back the connection from TRiumph to use the aux. outlets, one on left side front, another left side on rear ? they are a round receptable, don't think \you can stack a phone charger in. I'm looking for a way to hook up  trickle charger.

thanks for the help...

Front should read 36 and back 42. if you have recently had your tyres changed, they might have put the codes in the wrong way round. Your hand book comes with the codes in and must be recoded when any has been done to the ecm/ecu. That's all can think thats happened.

On the TPMS if the sensors are reversed I suggest you see your dealer.  On the other matter I'm afraid I don't understand your question.  Perhaps someone else may.  If not then perhaps you could rephrase,

The aux plugs are DIN not US cigarette lighter.  It is common in europe.  You can find what you need at

You can get adapters to change the din socket to a 12v lighter socket like the one you find in the glove box and top box.

Also, you should find that there is usually a connector for a trickle charger already connected to the battery under the black plastic part on the right hand forward of the fuel tank covering the battery itself.

The DIN socket down by your left shin is also wired directly through to the battery so that you can plug a trickle charger into that with a DIN socket to charge the bike..

Lots of information and Photographs of trickle charging / battery tending here : Optimate

I found the easiest way was to plug straight into the permanently live socket by the rider's left knee,
which saves fiddling around to pull a wire out from under the battery cover  :028:

TPMS system -
You will need to go back the Dealer to get them to remap the Sensor codes
to their correct positions - they have them reversed  :157:
