More trouble - ho hum!
« on: March 24, 2013, 06:01:11 PM »
So after a week of happy if chilly motoring covering over 1000 miles I thought my woes were behind me.  Sadly on Friday driving from Bristol down to Bournemouth the sudden loss of power problem I have reported on before recurred.  This time I was setting off from a T junction when the power loss occurred - the bike didn't stall, there were no warning lights but power wouldn't come on and I stopped.  Sadly the car behind me didn't react quickly enough and nudged me off.  Scratches to the bike but none to me!  The same problem happened again driving back home later that evening though there was nobody behind me on that occasion.

On Saturday I took the bike back to Fowlers (the Bristol dealer) and formally rejected it, I gave them  a lengthy covering letter explaining why.  Having seen the problem on the bike themselves they were sympathetic but I will obviously need to wait to hear what the owners say in the week ahead.

They were good enough to lend me a bike for transport while this is sorted out.  In fact they have been spot on in the way they have treated me thus far so fingers crossed for the next step.

As none of you seem to have had the same problem I have said I would be happy to receive a replacement bike or a refund.

I will of course post updates.

Sorry to hear that Trom. Surely if the power failure is Triumphs fault then they should fix any scrapes etc.

Mine is still running sweet. Still waiting for Webbs to get back to me about the new screen motor. Still it has only been 8 days.

Hi Trom,

Very sorry to hear about the "off". Glad you are okay.

Berber, the power failure was Triumph's fault but the scrapes are the car driver's fault as they drove into the bike. Triumph has no legal responsibility to repair damage of this type. It would require claiming off the driver's insurance.
