The Wild Atlantic Way
« on: September 05, 2014, 05:51:58 pm »
So shortly going to be hitting the road to get the Ferry across from Fishguard to Rosslare for a week riding the Wild Atlantic Way....

Fingers crossed for some decent weather, looking promising right now!  :152:

I will have a McCaffereys or two on your behalf no doubt. :821:

If I get the chance I will update with some pics and stuff as I go and some reports too..

New set of Michelin Pilot Road 4s which should be scrubbed in by the time I arrive at the Ferry terminal so looking forward to some fun times!

Well stage one complete. An uneventful run down to Fishguard.

Shame it was dark for the run. I have the feeling the scenery might have been quite pleasant. Haven't been this way in 30 years when I was flying Hawks out of RAF Brawdy.

Well first overnight stop reached at Baltimore, the South West tip of Ireland.

Day didn't start too well didn't hear the announcements that the ferry had docked so a little late getting up and everyone else had disembarked by the time we got to the car deck! Oops!  :745:

Was a little soggy out but that soon cleared up and had an easy run on nice roads to Waterford where we stopped at the Crystal factory for a tour.

Then onto Cork before joining the Wild Atlantic Way for some roads varying from nice sweeping coastal hugging routes to farm tracks I wouldn't take a 4x4 down!

Sun is now coming out. The pub up the road has Irish beer, good food and live music! Seems like a plan!

Here is me at the crystal factory and the view from tonight's B&B as well as the 911 tribute crystal work at the Waterford Crystal factory which is a copy of one they gave to a New York fire house.
