Damn Radio "No Audio Found"
« on: September 09, 2014, 08:33:35 pm »
Okay, so I read about riders having to pull their fuses and reseat them when you get that awful message "No Audio Found".  I never had this problem until I installed the gps (garmin 6060) according to specs.

Usually when I turn the ignition off, the gps also shuts down. What I get the messaged is when the GPS does not shut off when I turn the ignition off.

I then have to pull the fuse and reseat it and everything is back to normal.

Any else notice the gps not shutting down when this message comes on?

This is likely to be linked with the now confirmed fault where some audio modules are not powering down
when the Ignition is switched off - I think this could also be preventing the GPS from powering down.

More information in the other thread : Error - "Audio Not Found"

Yes, for a very long time. Somewhere in a thread I wrote a procedure that minimizes the fault. The Garmin is not causing the problem. Your actually lucky you have the Garmin wired in, to tell you when you have the hard fault. Because if you shut down and have the fault, the battery is usually dead within 2-4 hours. So don't ignore the Garmin, pull the fuse and reset.

Seems the ignition isn't really shutting down, and I don't see how that can be caused by the audio module. But if it ain't shutting down completely, I can see how that can cause a current drain, even if mainly from the audio module.

But then how does everything return to normal when the audio fuse is removed?

I am just trying to make some sense out of it all.

It would appear that there is a relay somewhere in the system that is not de-energising and this allows current drain to continue after apparent shut down
Triumph Trophy! Not for every Tomaz, Dieter or Herman!🇬🇧

Which will still prove that  the audio module is NOT the real problem.
