Added Oil
« on: September 11, 2014, 04:35:46 pm »
I added about half a quart of oil to the Trophy today. It's been about 5K miles since the oil was changed at the 10K service and it was down a little since the last time I checked it.  In reality, it probably needed less than half a pint to bring it back to where it was--I think the dealer left it on the low side of the window, but I added enough to put it mid way between the lines on the window.  Anyone else have to add oil between changes?

Yes, me too.
The first service at 1.000 km.
Now I am playing in Norway = North of Europe. lots of mountains up end down.
Yesterday I put 0.5 liter oil.
Tomorrow I will check again.

But I have to keep in mind, the bike is only 4500 km old, so a bit oil con sumpion could not be a problem.
My previus BMW R1200RT did the same, some oil consumption after never again.

Regardless of what Triumph suggest I change my oil every 5000 or less.  So far have not been low at any change

I have 6,500 miles on my TTSE, never changed the engine oil, but I recently checked it and from the best I can tell, it has not gone down a drop from the day I purchased it in Nov 2013.

Of all the problems I had with mine over the 14K miles, oil consumption wasn't one.
