Heated grip kit or buy parts?

OK so i got me 500 miles on my new TT and it was in for its 1st check this morning (loving it so far)...was a bit surprised when i got a £50 bill for the oils, but hey ho.

anyway i was looking at adding the heated grips and was checking out the pricing...this doesn't make sense :084:
If i buy the kit it is £155 Retail..(i think i get it for £140 after discount)....but if i buy the list below as parts then its only £72.14

am i stating the bleedin' obvious or am I missing something here?

GRIP, HANDLEBAR, RH, HEATED    £ 38.64
GRIP, HANDLEBAR, LH, HEATED    £ 25.96
    CON PACK H/GRIP                            £   0.90   x2
    SCREW,S/TAP,PAN/HD,M4X10,SLV    £   2.87   x2

Does the "Retail Price" include fitting, and the cost of enabling the Heated Grips symbology
in the Instrument Panel display ( which a Dealer will still have to do - even if you fit them your self ) ?

That's odd, but it does look cheaper to buy the parts.

i was planning on fitting myself anyway...prefer to do this really.

i understand that they work when you plug them in, then i was going to call in a favour to have the dealer active the display icon.

On the latter bikes you dont need the dealer there is a link wire under the glove box you just replace the blanking plug with a link wire or use the link plug you buy from Triumph I think it is only £2.50. You can see it in the How To section
