My US model 2013 Triumph Trophy SE has a New, and I might add not improved, plastic insert that will not allow a Gas Nozzle to be fully inserted into the Fuel Tank. (I don't understand the reasoning behind this, but there must be one).
If I am fueling at a gas station in Texas that has a Vapor return bezel, I have to get my hands full of fuel to hold it back so the fuel will flow. If I am lucky enough to get a pump without the bezel, then I just get to splash gas all over my new paint on the tank and fairing.
I know in the new Triumph 1200 Explorer, it has a plastic insert in the fuel fill that can be gently removed with a pair of long needle nose pliers.
Why is it in there, and more importantly can it be removed?
I am including a picture of my fuel fill with the gas cap open.
