In transition from Explorer to Trophy in VA
« on: September 22, 2014, 04:09:36 am »
A warm fall Hello from the Shenandoah Valley of VA to all of you.

I've been riding a 2013 Explorer for about a year now and while I really like it, I've been lusting after the Trophy since the day I sat on it.  In fact, when I bought my Explorer I felt like it was the best buy since it had all the power and touring capabilities I was looking for and I could take off pavement as well.  While I've gotten really used to riding it I just can't get the Trophy off my mind...so I put a deposit down on a Trophy about a week ago and hope to pick it up the first week of Oct.

I'm hoping to add an 800Xc as well at some point or just a little 250 to keep my off roading nag at bay, but that's a bit into the future...for the riding I'm doing now (not much off road) I think the Trophy is an excellent choice and I can hardly wait to pick it up...planning about a 1000 mile trip the day I (hope to....) pick it up.  It will be over about 5 days down to the Great Smokies into GA and back to VA.

I've got my bike listed on the forum here. http://www.tiger-explorer.com/index.php/topic,9585.msg119042.html#msg119042

Here's a virtual pint on me... :821: and good day to you all!

Turbo...

Hi Turboschwinn, and  :400:  to the Club !

You didn't say - is it a brand new Trophy that you're getting ?

If so, don't forget to factor into the planning of your 1000 mile first trip,
that there is an initial 500 mile oil change ( etc. ) service  :028:

Cheers  :821:

Turbo,
Welcome. You'll see a big increase in mpg. My trophy riding friend says he gets 37-38 mpg. I get 48-49 mpg on the Trophy!
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.

Always sorry to lose a Tiger rider, but at least you've changed it for something half decent  :001: Good luck to you  :028:
