Tank bag installation
« on: October 06, 2014, 10:38:08 pm »
It seems to be a bit of a pain in the behind.

Any ideas or advice?
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.

I take it you didn't get the Triumph tank bag then because I seem to recall that being a very straightforward job to fit..

You're right. It wasn't bad after all. The only problems were my fat fingers and consequent dropped screws that I had to look for by crawling around on my hand and knees.

Mine arrived today with the only instructions included "have a pro do it"  Triumph no longer seems to have the instructions on the web site.  What I find here are comments on how easy it is and no instructions or pictures that are no longer hosted.

Thanks in advance.  :152:

Instructions are still accessible to me here :

Triumph Instructions.com

Just enter the Part Number A9510095, Search, and then click the flag for your Country / Language
( The Union Flag for UK and Stars & Stripes for US both work - I just checked them ).

Let me know if it doesn't work for you !  :028:

Cheers  :821:

Yes that worked for me.  Love how they start with "As described in the service manual..."

Or how I spent my morning.  Removed the four round head cap screws that hold on the tank cover.  Spent a little time wiping the detritus off all the bits. Brought the cover into the kitchen where it was warmer and got going.  The rubber plugs push out better after they warm up a bit.  the front clip assembly seems intuitively obvious after looking at the directions.  Installing the cover back on the bike I would recommend starting with the two longer cap screws in front then the back and tighten it all up arter they are all in place.  All pleased with myself I ask my wife what she thinks.  Nice purse she says.

Lets just say I like my new purse and am looking forward to going for a ride.  Thanks for the Help.
