High-Flow Air Filter
« on: October 24, 2014, 12:26:04 am »
Does anyone have info on what after-market high-flow air filter fits the 2014 Trophy?  K&N?  Perhaps BMC?

Thanks

G'day Capt,

Check out the SEARCH (between FORUM and PROFILE in the task bar above) function as there's a whole heap of discussions regarding after market air filters etc.

My 2 bob (20 cents) worth is the stock Triumph air filter and overall performance is quite okay.

K&N does make a filter for the TTSE.

I've not tested on the Trophy but having sold K&N and BMC filters for several years and tested them on almost every other Triumph of the last decade they actually make no difference what so ever - its worth changing them if you need a new one anyway as they are washable and so last forever, but for added performance they do nothing at all (hence we no longer sell them)

It is such a major job to get at the air filter on the Trophy it really isn't something to do unless you have to... A lot of cost for the labour to strip things down and then peanuts for the cost of the actual filter.

The recommended change interval is 10k miles but my local dealership says all the ones they have seen at 10k look almost brand new and recommend leaving it to 20k. Unless you are in an exceptionally dirty/dusty environment.
