Extra brake light and affect on cruise control
« on: November 06, 2014, 01:18:40 pm »
BACKGROUND: I want to add additional brake lights. I know my Harley Davidson Ultra Classic the cruise control uses the voltage/amps to the brake lights to disengage when breaking. So, if adding extra lights to the bike the cruise control will never engage. Not having the Trophy SE manual I have no clue if the voltage/amps to the brake light has any effect on how the cruise might or might not work. I like the extra visibility from the back.

QUESTION: Does anybody know if adding extra brake lights will affect the cruise control or not?

FOLLOW UP QUESTION: Does anybody have extra brake lights added with pictures?

Thanks ,
Gene

I installed AdMore Lighting Light Bar and am very happy. They are designed for CanBus systems, and easy install as they come with everything needed to complete the job. No problems with Cruise Control. The only thing I encounterd was the wiring colors change on the bike between the bike harness and the light assy and you need to wire to the bike colors. Any thing I can help with just ask. Dick

Shortly after taking delivery of my Trophy in early 2013, I installed red HyperLites on my 2013 Trophy and connected the controller into the wiring inside the taillight housing. The lights work just fine and caused no interaction with the cruise-control.
