Planning ride from Colorado to Florida
« on: November 12, 2014, 01:28:51 am »
I'm currently planning a ride from my home in Colorado to Florida, passing through Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, and a bit of Alabama.  I went on Triumph's website to look for dealers along the way and I find that there are very few Triumph dealers along my intended route, which is predominantly on major interstates and through major cities.

I know there are a lot of shops that do repairs and service on Triumphs, including warranty repairs, but there doesn't seem to be a listing of who/where they're located.  Sure would be nice to know in advance so that if you need them along the way, they'd be easy to find and contact.

Does anyone know of such a list, or perhaps we could get Admin here to start a database (based on our collective inputs) that lists the known (and confirmed) non-Triumph dealer shops located in the US, Can, UK, AU and abroad who can help us out when needed.

Hi CaptDenny,

Did a bit of Googling and found this which might help, but I don't know how up to date it is,
or whether it is just Main Dealers, so use your own judgement ...

I checked out your link but the imbedded links on the site it took me to seem
to be broken or old.

Thanks though...

Hi again,

Just tried it and it works fine for me - clicked on the "US 160 dialable" version,
and it downloads a ".zip" file which contains the files "triumphuspoi.bmp"
( which is an Icon to appear on the GPS screen ),
and "triumphuspoi.gpx" which is the location Data file.

I have extracted the .gpx file to a map and it looks like the one attached below.

I have also attached the .gpx file below, but have had to convert the .bmp file to a .jpg file
as .bmp files aren't supported on the forum as attachments !   :028:

I still don't know how up to date the locations are though  :084:

Cheers  :821:

A quick glance at Maine and Ohio tells me that the US map is out of date.
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.

Thanks, but I'm looking for the private shops that work on, service and repair Triumphs, not official Triumph motorcycle dealers.  With so few official Triumph dealers in the US...it's likely (unless you have some luck) that if you break down or need service, the closest Triumph Dealer may be hundreds of miles away.

If we had an online listing of every shop (including dealers) who can work on our Trophies...you may find that no matter where you are in the US, that there is a private shop relatively close-by that can fix your bike and get you on your way.  I'm hoping Admin sees this and will add an editable file or link so that can all go to the file and populate it with every shop we collectively know of that is confirmed to work on Triumphs. :169:
