Optimate 3 plug identification
« on: November 22, 2014, 11:11:24 am »
Hi all, first post ever... I am trying to make an extension lead for my Optimate 3 charger. I want to get a male and female of the clear-ish/white plastic plugs. The one with a circle and square to stop reversing the poles. Can anyone ID them and provide a site I could buy some from? I live 130kms from a main city, so online would be great. Thanks in advance. Sean

From the Optimate website:
OptiMate & AccuMate Accessories (TM)

2.5m Extension Cable

[Item Image]
2.5 metre extension cable for use with OptiMate and AccuMate battery chargers.
TM73
£6.66 + VAT (£7.99 inc VAT)

This will at the least give you Optimate part number TM73 to reference if you need to check with another source for it.  The website specifically mentions this cable for the charges with the white connectors.
Hope this helps,

I bought some spare connectors both halves from maplin here in the uk.  They are quite standard

Just looked them up http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/race-pack-lead-female-battery-connector-jg05f

Obviously only maplin over here.  I seem to remember that the tails might be the wrong way round (red being ground)  but i might not be remembering properly it was some time ago.  I do have the proper tool for taking the pins out to swap them.  I put them on all sorts of things like heated jacket and power for tank bag.
