Late season ride
« on: November 23, 2014, 09:26:04 pm »
Whereas it was 15°F a few days ago, it climbed into the mid 50s today. Except for a little sand in places as a result of the snowstorm we had a few weeks ago there was no reason not to ride. So I took the cover off the Beast and unplugged the battery tender. I pretty much stayed on back roads and was out for about two hours. The sun was getting low in the sky as I was getting home and the temperature plummeted downward. All in all it was a great late season opportunity for a ride.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for a few more chances.
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.

very good! and the feeling that getting home you'll get a hot drink  :821: and you'll enjoy the rest of the day warm and cosy is so great! I like that  :047:

Got in a few miles myself today. Temps climbed to the mid 60's with a bit of sunshine tossed in for good measure :028:

You guys make it too easy to give you a hard time!

Whereas it was in the mid 40s a few days ago it climbed to the mid to high 70s today.  There was no sand, no salt just a few puddles from the drenching rain we'd had, there was no reason not to ride so I opened the garage door, greeted the sun, stayed on the back roads and saw about 200 other bikers enjoying the same.  The sun was getting low as I returned home and the temperatures had plummeted to nearly 60-65.  I put the bike away knowing it might be all of 48 hours before I would have a chance to ride again.

Sorry guys I couldn't resist :017:

I took advantage of one more day with temperature in the 60s (F°) and got out for yet another ride. Not bad for November 25 in Maine. After the ride I put the Trophy down for the winter for the third time this year. Let's hope I have to do it again.

12 inches of snow is predicted for tomorrow evening.

Gotta hand it to you Bludy L. You are actually getting in more late season rides than this Texas boy!   :028:  Parental responsibilities and work haven't allowed me on the bike since Sunday.

Put 50 miles on the little Honda yesterday. Thanksgiving weekend is supposed to be a bit chilly, but no snow so the TT may get a few more miles on it. Snow all around us, but looks like we are going to catch a break, whew.
