Pirelli Angel GT
« on: December 15, 2014, 12:00:33 am »
I've been offered a set of  "half work" tyres which I was thinking of buying to keep as emergency spares.  The vender is a serving Police Motorcyclist who I know through one of my clubs and who I trust implicably but he wants me to make him an offer.  I don't know what would be a fare price, don't want to annoy him and don't want to stitch myself up.  Does anyone have a general idea of the fare price for "half worn" tyres?

If I bought a tyre and was able to use half of its wear, I know which half I would choose. :002:

How old are the tires? Much more than a year old I think I would pass on the offer.

I kept a half worn rear that I took of my bike when I replaced the front with a new pair thinking I would use it 2 years latter I binned it. It had gone hard as rock. You have £14k worth of motorcycle is it worth the risk to save £50 to £100 pounds on rubber.

Navydad and Malcomb,

Thanks for nudging me in right direction.   Your comments were very helpful and correct.   I'll skip the offer and wait until I have the cash to buy new.
