New TOY
« on: December 29, 2014, 11:15:27 pm »
I bought a used 2013 Trophy SE all the bells and whistles installed ready to go, picked it up early Nov had it for 2 weeks, have not seen it since!!
Shop picked it up as heated seats were not showing up on dash as working.
Shop called do I really need to know that the seats are working!
Bike has only 2000km on it
I have wanted this bike for 2 years!!! I hope this isn't the start of a bad decision.

Anyone else had issues with the seats not registering on dash!!

Thanks
Happy New Year
Please take my opinion, I'm not using it!!!

No, but as it's something I may add to the '12 SE I pick up next week (still so excited !).
So I'd be interested to know if there is an "Issue" with adding Heated Seats to the bike later in life
I'll keep watching this Post

Hi pryce and welcome... Sorry to hear about that minor problem..

Arguably you don't need the dash icon to know the heated seats are on but as it can do it.... It should.

Certainly for the heated grips for some reason, to get the icon there needs to be a wire 'jumper' installed in a connector block on the left hand side. There could well be something similar for the seats.

I fitted the heated grips and heated rider seat after delivery and both worked OK. But initially without the symbols showing on the central display. These had to be activated with the Triumph Diagnostic Maintenance software. Not a big deal and only a 5 minute job. This activation procedure is not mentioned in the fitting instructions however!
The same procedure is applicable when TPMS is fitted later.

The diagnostic configuration should only be required for non- SE models. Go to the Triumph instructions web site and read the procedure for heated seat installation. I'm sure it will clear up the issue.

Yes, as trophied says, Welcome to the Forum  :400:.  You may want to stop over to the new members section and introduce yourself.  As for the dash icon I think it important enough to insist the dealer fix it.
