Raise and support the front of the motorcycle
« on: January 11, 2015, 01:46:00 pm »
That's what it says in the TT(SE) Service Manual from Triumph..

I did it yesterday using two old car jacks, one underneath each fork leg, and it got the job done (Grabbing or pulsing front brake reported after a Road Test by a Triumph techie) but I wasn't happy with it..

So today I've used a suitably padded scissor jack on the exhaust system - as far forward as possible - with just enough lift to allow the Front wheel to rotate and to turn the 'bars left and right...

Anybody else tried this ?
I haven't got Paddock Stands or two bags of cement to hand...

I have a standard auto hydraulic floor jack and a motorcycle hydraulic floor jack.  They both work.  Just jack the bike up a few inches by exhaust pipes.

I do it all the time when cleaning so I can rotate the front wheel. :169:

No Problems with it. I have a bike lift I used to use on a Harley and my Goldwing. However the bottom of the Trophy is not flat so it wont work  :023:
It wasn't me !!
