New Trophy in the driveway
« on: January 19, 2015, 12:45:02 am »
G'day from Melbourne, Australia

My new Trophy, 5 days new, sits in the driveway after a ride this morning to put up some km's and "run in" the new engine. Triumph Australia have sourced an inventory of 2014 (maybe MY13) standard model Trophies without the audio or electronic suspension, and are selling on a 'first come, first serve' basis for around $22,000 on road depending on the Dealer. This is my third Triumph, starting with a Street Triple 675 and then a Tiger 1050. With some 'money from America' in the bank after a change of job, and having the admired the Trophy SE, the Trophy Standard passed the test. The Tiger was traded last Thursday and I rode out the same afternoon on a Pacific Blue model with zero km's.

First impression is how nimble the bike is for 300 kg wet - home is on the outskirts of Melbourne and ready access to some great biking roads in the Yarra Valley. Summer in Australia is the perfect time to be riding, and I'm hoping to get a few weekends in/away while the weather is perfect.

Interested if anyone on the Forum can shed light on where/which market the current crop of Trophy Standards were sourced from and any other information on their pedigree?

Best

Stuart S.

G'day Stuart,

Welcome to the Forum that is a proven resource. Great riding down your way which you will enjoy on the TT. Also some colourful owners to link up with and go for a long ride.

I'm speculating the standard TT were imported to boost take-up with a lower entry price; possibly excess from UK/Europe? Regardless great bike although I must say I've gotten used to all the electric niceties on the TTSE.
