Keys and lock for Trunk
« on: January 30, 2015, 07:25:22 pm »
I ordered a trunk, colored cover, and sliding carriage for the Trophy.  It doesn't look like it came with barrels or keys. Should it have?   I bought the bike used and it didn't come with an extra barrel.

In my case the barrel came with the bike when purchased new.  I believe this is the way it is supposed to work for all.

double check in your underseat storage area, might find it in there somewhere. I have been able to order locks and keys from triumph, but you would have a separate key from the ignition for the top box.... I have also gotten a set of 3 locks with a set of keys, just for luggage and left the ignition separate..... or, you can get an entire lock set with new keys for everything (including ignition)

One other question.  The directions used to be on a link from the accessory page, now I don't see them.  Any idea where they went?

for the install - you use the part numbers from the sliding carriage kit and the top box cover for each instruction.... then, browse to http://www.triumphinstructions.com/ and put in the "A" part numbers

installing the little barrel lock would be in the owner's manual (I think).

Before you install the new barrel you may want to check with a lock smith to see if he can re-key it to your bike key.  Once installed it is very difficult to remove..
Cheers,
Ken

Absolutely. Take it to a good locksmith and they'll get it right.
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.
