International motorcycle shows
« on: February 06, 2015, 01:14:31 am »
Just wondering how many members attend the international motorcycle shows? I usually go every year but this year they dropped the location I live near. Bummer now I would have to drive much further

Went to the one in Dallas two weekends ago.  A little smaller than I expected but all the major brands were represented.

Most interesting thing to watch was the Harley rep trying to sell the electric motorcycle concept to the bearded, leather clad old-school hog riders.  The very definition of trying to overcome skepticism.

mmlanes you have more ambition than I.  Dallas seemed like to far of a drive a car given what I'd read about the size and quality. If it had been summer I for sure would have ridden up on the bike.

I went to the one in Long Beach, Ca. last November.  Packed with people as always.  The only real disappointment was that Triumph had NO TROPHYS!!!  Oh well.  I do recommend the 'VIP Tour' ticket.  For an extra $10 or so, you get in 30 minutes ahead of the crowd, a free t-shirt, and the "Why We Ride" movie on DVD.  Not a bad deal for the extra $$.  I got a great deal on a Sena 20S while I was there as well...

w8d4it, My daughter lives in Dallas, so it was a multi-purpose trip.

Plus it was the first motorcycle show I'd ever been to.  If it's like that every year, I'll just decide that I've been there and done that.  Fer sure not worth a special trip.
