top box lid problem
« on: February 16, 2015, 02:43:38 am »
Does anyone else's top box lid flop up and down about 1/4 inch when fully latched?
Just curious, I'm sure it's gonna leak!

Nope, totally secure and leak proof when fully latched.

Mine has a small gap that allows a bit of movement, but not as much as yours. never did leak and I have been through some frog stranglers including a 600 mile dandy that we rode through on our Sturgis trip. Spray it with the garden hose and see if it leaks. I removed the rubber gaskets from the saddlebag lids because they kept coming loose, never had a leak there yet either.

Especially if I trap a bit of my rucksack in the top box it does shut and lock but have a biggish gap.  If I push all the straps in carefully it shuts and locks with no gap.  Never let water in though.

Watch closely for the 2 straps if they get caught especially if it on the side stand. But otherwise no problems. Good fit and waterproof.

If in doubt next time in the dealers get them to check it out.
