Digital Speedometer went blank
« on: February 20, 2015, 02:08:50 pm »
I was riding in this morning and when I left the house I know my Digital speedometer was working fine.  A bit later I checked my speed and the digital speedometer displayed dashes only (---).  Everything else appears to be working properly.  The outside temp was upper 20-low 30 degrees Fahrenheit.  Could this be related to the cold temp?

Thanks,
Chris

yes - they all seem to do that. There is one thread here somewhere that a member said they saw (or knew someone who saw) it in a service manual addendum. I have seen this behavior on my bike and on the demo/loaner bike I'm currently riding.

So it is due to the cold and some what normal.  Thanks.

Mine does it and then starts operating after a few miles. The speedometer and tach gauges work fine though.

I have a 25 mile ride to work and it never came back on.  I have ridden in temps in the mid 30s and this is the first time I have seen this.  Does this happen in the low 30s and below?  Hopefully, it will work on the way home now that the temps are in the 40s and sunny.

Thanks,
Chris

It has always been around or below the freezing mark when mine did it  :190:

I can confirm that this is 'expected' behaviour AND documented by Triumph, once temp is around or below 0C

Yeah, it worked fine on the way home.  I take it there is no fix for this other than moving further south. :001:

Thanks,
Chris
