Any way to reset the Nolan N-com B1 back to factory defaults
« on: March 03, 2015, 01:48:41 pm »
I have a Nolan N-Com B1 communications system in my helmet.  I have paired it to my TTSE as device 1 and have paired my phone to the TTSE as device 2.  I can get phone calls on the bike and the audio is fine.  However I can't hear the radio or any other audio bike source on the N-com headset.  I have tried so many things I would like to just start over.  If there anyway to reset the N-com system back to factory defaults?

When I go to the N-Com Wizard Intercom page I don't have anything listed.  When I go to the Bluetooth Devices page I don't have anything listed there either (but the helmet comm work with my phone). :440:

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Hi,

I'm away from home and my PC right now but have a look at this Topic :
Bluetooth .... Reply #5

Start on the Trophy by doing an "Unpair All" - it is unlikely that your N-COM would need to be reset to Fzctory Default, but I'll see if I can dig out how to do that.

Most likely you don't have the Trophy system set up correctly !

Cheers

Coconut,
Roger that.  This is what I have done:
Unpaired all on the bike.  Turned the bike off.
Removed the bike pairing from my phone and rebooted it
Turned the bike on and paired my phone to Headset 1
Paired the Helmet to Headset 2.
The pairing goes OK and says "paired" for both devices
But I still can't hear the bike audio on the Helmet comm.
I have enabled the Nav and Bluetooth audio on the bike
When I select Bluetooth on the bike it doesn't show any device
When I use the N-com wizard it doesn't show anything under Intercom or Bluetooth Devices

Earlier I did pair my Zumo 660 to the helmet and the audio worked fine.
Also I had borrowed a helmet before I got this Nolan one and had paired it to the bike and could hear the bike audio through the helmet.

Thanks so much for you help!!!  If you have any other suggestion I am eager to try them!!

Thanks!!!!

I just read a post by AmericanThunder and he said he had to press the up arrow for 2 seconds after turning the N-com system on to select the A2DP profile.  That worked but I was surprised because the book says this profile is selected automatically.  Any ideas

Thanks again for all your help.

Have you turned the speakers on the Trophy "OFF"?  If you still have audio to the speakers and just not in the helmet that is probably the problem.

I had set the audio out on the bike to Headsets.

First, to avoid confusion, there is No "Headset 2" !

There are 2 channels called "Headset 1" and "Device 2"

The numbers 1 & 2 relate to those 2 channels.

Channel 1 only supports Headset Profiles,
hence "Headset 1", while "Device 2" supports Headsets AND
other Bluetooth devices such as Media Players / Phones etc.

Normally I would recommend pairing yor Helmet as "Headset 1"
and your Mobile Phone as "Device 2".

It may be that your B1 will auto connect if it is paired as "Headset 1"
instead of "Device 1", but having said that, I had a B4+ system
that was also supposed to connect automatically, but I had to press
the "Up" arrow every time on first power up, to get it to get it to connect,
so you might be stuck with that !

If you really want to resolve that issue you would have to take it up
directly with Nolan Technical Support.

Cheers,

Coconut,
Thanks.  Hitting the up arrow for two seconds is no big deal.  If that were my biggest problems I would sing and dance.  Thanks again for all your help on this and many more issues!!!
