I was the Tiger vs Trophy dude--was!
« on: March 04, 2015, 01:50:20 am »
I took a trip to the Triumph dealer and put a deposit down on a 2014 Blue Model.   They offered a reasonable trade-in and I got the $500 voucher (will use it for the top-case).     I pick it up on Saturday and will take some happy snaps and officially introduce myself  This is a big deal for me.  This forum assisted in walking me off the edge.   I really loved my 2010 1050 Black Tiger and this will be a new experience for me.  My friends in NC are already pushing me to take a trip the end of April.    Keep fingers crossed that it all works out.  Oh, I got a nice rate for my loan via Triumph.  They actually beat my credit union by 2%-go figure.    Cheers BC

Congratulations, your going to love it. I had a Goldwing and a 2013 Bonneville, traded the Bonnie for a 2013 Silver Trophy SE and its a great machine. I'll be up in NC in June to ride the Smoky Mountains with it.

Congratulations!!! You will love your new bike. I had a Tiger 1050 before, as well, that I thought couldn't be topped. The Trophy is way more comfortable than the Tiger, in my opinion, and every bit as thrilling. To me, the Tiger felt a bit unpolished after riding the Trophy. Great bike but not in the same category I don't believe.

My first trip on the Trophy found me riding through a heavy thunderstorm. On the Tiger, I'd have been soaked even in rain gear. I didn't stop on the Trophy to put on my rain gear and managed to stay dry except for a few sneaky drops under the wind screen. To my amazement, even my boots stayed dry. I've never experienced that on my previous bikes!

Of course, we were moving the entire time. Stopping would have changed the result dramatically!!
