First ride(s)
« on: March 17, 2015, 12:45:20 pm »
So I collected my TES on Saturday and now have 350 miles completed in mostly crappy weather.

Engine is just as good as it was on my TEX.
Wind protection is much better than expected.
I like the power screen more than I thought I would.
50 mpg...really? Expected 40.
TC intervenes later than my TEX. Maybe better road tires.
Really agile for a big bike.

Niggles:
Why is my back covered in road grime? Would the lower euro rear fender help?
Unfair to have heated grip button and no heated grips...esp in 35 degree rain.

The extended rear fender certainly does help to reduce the amount of road dirt that gets thrown up
over the back end.  That part was introduced as Standard equipment in 2014 so I would ask your Dealer
to order one for you, and to supply and fit it withhout further charge !  :169:

Cheers  :821:

Extended rear fender came with bike so I'll give it a try.
Covers that nice looking rear wheel though😇
Thanks

Thanks for the comparison glad you like it and yes my mate with the explorer couldn't believe I was getting better mpg than him with all that extra weight. I think its down to better aerodynamics and higher gearing.

you say rear fender extender came with the bike. Was it your option to have it fitted as the posts say on the newer models it came fitted as standard. Mine is a 2012 model and I had the front and rear fitted. Well worth it. If you have the top box on you get no rear dirt coming up onto you.

Back covered in road grime? I could loan you my wife, she keeps all the dirt off me (but costs more than an extended fender)!
