Final Drive Fluid- What are you using?

I want to change my FD fluid, but I can't find the recommended Castrol SAF-XO. My local Triumph dealer said they use Yamalube gear oil. I called Castrol U.S.A. to ask about availability and they said it was a U.K. market only product. They would not even tell me if there was a U.S. equivalent.

So, my questions are: What are others using in the final drive? Also, if there is a problem in the future will Triumph deny warranty coverage for not using the SPECIFIC brand of lubricant?

    Thanks!

Have a look here : Castrol Axle & Diff Oils and scroll down the page -
It looks like Castrol SAF-XO has been replaced by "Castrol Syntrax Long Life 75W 90".

Alternatively, from further research, it would seem that Land Rover use SAF-XO in several of their vehicle Diff's.
The Land Rover Part Number is LNR 7591 so you could check if your local Land Rover dealer has stock of that !

I use Mobil 1 with the same spec as specified in the Triumph Factory Service Manual.

    See attached link

    Just follow the spec.

Does it matter if the Mobil 1 has limited slip additive?

I'll check tonight and post exactly which Mobil 1 product I am using.  But it matches the Triumph stated spec perfectly.

Thanks, I can't find any Mobil 1 Synthetic that doesn't have the LS additive. Same for the Castrol Syntrax. I can find the LS type, but the "LONG LIFE" w/o LS additive is not available here.

I thought we did not have to change the fluid after the 500 mile initial change.

I think my BMW RT called for the same type gear lube and BMW dealers have it.  I think I also used some Valvoline I purchased at an AutoZone that matched the specs.
