« on: March 19, 2015, 10:20:20 am »
Just had an email from BMW..they don't know I have sold my 3 yr old gsa and purchased a ttse :152: ..but they are recalling 3000,000 bikes the world over to replace the wheel flange on the rear suspension as a precaution!...it must be going to cost them a fortune...but there's no messing about they just do it...my mates rear shock failed on his gsa although it was out of warranty..as a good will gesture they are assuring them up to 30000 and had it repaired free of charge!!.thats service for you

More info on this here : Motorcycle News

"It seems over tightening the rear wheel flange which mounts the rear brake disc to the swingarm
can cause cracks and potential failure", and is being replaced Free of Charge with a more robust part.

Affects all R and K series models between November 2003 and April 2011.

Sounds like a very  pragmatic aproach being taken by BMW  :028:
