10K Miles Service completed - Good and bad news..

My '12 TTSE finally had her 10K Miles Service done last Wednesday - all bar the Oil and Filter which were done at 8.5K when I bought her (Second-Hand) at the start of January this year...
The Dealer also replaced the Rear Bevel Drive housing (under Warranty) as the powder coating was bubbling in a couple of places. I'd spotted that fault when I did my Post Delivery Check and questioned whether it was a known problem - previous Hinckley MkII Trophy experience - they asked the question and Triumph immediately agreed to replace it  :062:

On the Post Service Check ride the Tech' reported that he still thought the Front Discs were warped - he said the same after fitting new tyres back in January. I checked at the time and thought they were OK but I didn't use any Dial Test Indicator Kit so was not certain.
I could detect the pulsing under light braking but it went away under heavier use and I sort of got used to it....
Anyway today I found my DTI Kit - but none of the brackets would fit on the Fork Leg so I re-checked it again taking extra care and using better lighting..
Blow Me Down! They are warped ! A paltry 0.15mm Run-Out is all that is allowed. The Right Disc is more warped than the Left.... Something to do with the Linked Braking ?
So back to the Dealer to confirm their findings...
The Service Manager checked the Triumph System and discovered my '12 TTSE is STILL WITHIN WARRANTY - (expires August 2015 and not 2014 as I had thought)  :046:
Because my bike was part of Triumph's Demonstration Fleet it was first registered in August 2012 and spent a year going to Exhibitions, Shows and Photo-Shoots etc before being sold to the Original Owner, previous to me. When that happened the bike was given a two-year warranty from that date - so I am one happy chappy.

The new Front Discs and Pads have been ordered and will be fitted when I take her back in the to have the Final Drive Oil replaced (500 Miles after the re-build) - that shouldn't take me too long.

I can't praise my Local Dealer (Performance Triumph, Cheltenham) highly enough. Even buying a second-hand Trophy they seem to be only too happy to make certain I will enjoy my TTSE..

    It's been great so far..

Sorry for the work that need to be done, but great to hear about good service and warranty work.
People seem to get hung up on the negatives, this looks like a positive outcome in the works...

Well I just dropped my Trophy off for its service with the boys at Performance Triumph Cheltenham. Its at 14,000 miles so as they did an annual service last march at 6,000 they will do a 10,000 miles service on it. Hopefully, they are not going to come back with anything too scary but I guess time will tell. Certainly no indications of any problems.

I did ask if there was anything official from Triumph about the gear shift pivot bolt as a few people now seem to have reported sheared bolts. Nothing coming through any official channels apparently and the service guy said he hadn't heard of any where that had happened and he is usually pretty straight up.

Gordon I'm in exactly the same position as you. My bike was also a launch model, still had the keep left sticker on the mirror when I test rode the bike. I've got this intermittent rumble through my brakes as well, not there all the time. I'm going to phone Edinburgh Triumph just in case the warranty on my bike was re started after it was sold the the first owner. Thanks. Incidentally, how much was the service, I'm on 8000 miles now

    Thanks, Donald

    Hi Donald,

I have no idea of the 10K Service Cost as it was all part of the Part-Ex Deal I had for my '13 Tiger 800....but "cropbiker" might know as his is being completed today at the same Dealer..

With regard to the Warranty commencement date - that should show up on the Triumph "System" when the Service Dept checks for your bikes History, Recalls, SB's etc

No idea on the "Brake Rumble" though.... Cobbles ?

Was quoted £397 for the 10k.... will find out tomorrow when I pick Tyson up.... they were a bit backed up in the workshop so needed to keep it an extra day.... suited me as I had a funeral to go to so couldn't have picked it up today anyway

Seems to be quite a variation in 10k service costs. £ 397 is a lot I seem to recall a guy in Wales posting less than 200. No valve checks at 10k so why so much ?
