A word of caution about this Trophy for Sale
    on: Mar 31, 2015, 07.15 pm

I have absolutely no proof whatsoever that this Trophy being offered for sale :
    Triumph Trophy SE 2012 - £8750.00
IS the one I think it IS, however if YOU are thinking of buying it -
ask the seller what the Registration is first,
as it could well be the one I used to own, and which I wrote off !

    Why do I think this ? ....

Because the one being advertised is a Category D "due to a ditching", and,
it has a lovely new paint job ( Cranberry Red ) - my previously Lunar Silver Trophy
is now recorded at DVLA as being RED !

There are also too many similarities between the one being advertised and the one I "wrote off",
for me to think they are just co-incidences, such as :
    • Sat Nav bracket left in place ( I removed the Garmin cradle mount from mine but left the bracket ),
Rubber plugs missing from the brake and clutch fluid reservoir mirror mounting points
( I had mirrors fitted in mine - the mirrors were trashed ),
    • Mileage - approx. 500 miles more than mine had,
    • Rear light cluster having non-standard "silvered" indicator bulbs, just like I had on mine.
    • R & G Crash bars fitted ( will have had to have been straightened and repainted )
    • Seller is in Caerphilly - IIRC the person who bought the salvage originally said he was from Cardiff,
which is not far from Caerphilly ( although he Registered on the Forum as being from Carlisle ).

Even if this IS my old Trophy, I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with it - but BEWARE,
and have a good read through the story of what happened here : END OF A SAGA,
together with some of my thoughts on the credibility ( or lack of ) of the person
who purchased the salvage here : CALLING COCONUT ! BEFORE considering buying it  :084:

If it IS my old Trophy, my advice would be NOT to buy it,
but of course you should make up your own mind.

Feel free to ask me any questions by way of a Private Message  :169:

If you're the seller and you confirm the Registration and VIN Number to me,
and I confirm that this is NOT what I think it is, I will gladly remove this message !

.... lets hope the technical work is as good as the cosmetics!
That's my main concern - I know that there were several parts
that the Salvage buyer was not intending to replace,
that my Official authorised Triumph Dealer said SHOULD be replaced
due to them being bent, warped, twisted etc.

Oh, and another co-incidence to add to the list -
The seller shares ( at least) the same Christian Name,
as the person that bought the salvage !  :033:

I think it is likely its your old bike...

At least it solved a dilemma for me.  I am not now going to have mine sprayed red.  I don't like it!

In the UK isn't a seller obliged to note a salvage title when selling?

In the advert he states it is a "Cat D",
which means it has previously suffered
damage that has been assessed as costing
more to repair than the value of the motorcycle.

If I were a betting man I'd put money it being
my old Trophy - Registration BF62 YNT !

    Thanks for the Heads-Up Coconut...

I clicked on the link you provided, scrolled down to Item Specifics and chuckled when I read "Drive Type: Chain"   :745:

Perhaps the New Owner will also get a free Chain-Breaking Tool as well in the Deal  :156:

Well it didn't sell first time around, but then the Seller doesn't seem too helpful in providing
further information about the "Cat D ditching" he refers to, or the subsequent repairs,
or the Registration Mark, to "potentiial customers" that might ask these questions !  :164:

It's been re-listed again now - I do hope that no-one buys it
without getting it FULLY and COMPREHENSIVELY checked over first !
