    Hello tout le monde.

Does anyone know where to find side case protections such as those

    http://www.ebay.fr/itm/BMW-OEM-LH-Side-Case-Protection-for-K1600-77427700461-/181309034126

Or do you think it can be a good idea to try to adapt them as the cases are quite the same.

To be honest the coloured plastic shells for the panniers are so cheap I wouldn't bother...

As Cropbiker says, the colored piece is so inexpensive (in the US less than $100) I don't think it worth the bother.  Nor the detraction from the looks.  Have you checked into price for the colored portion in France.  You may find a relatively low price allays your concerns.

I'm not even sure there is a suitable place to mount protection bars for the side cases on the Trophy so that they would provide any true protection.  Agreed fixing the side case covers on the Trophy is about the most economical approach.  Much less expensive than trying to replace a beemers!

Lid Assembly, Pannier - LH or RH, Lunar Silver or Pacific Blue = EUR 69.30 each,
whereas Phantom Black LH or RH are EUR 66.02 ! :028:

    Hi Coconut,

You're right guys, compare to any crashbar system, it's cheap...

I will ask my reseller regarding the price, as we don't have on-line shops in France.

My main concern is for the daily use, as riding in Paris is definitely the biggest scratch maker.

I will still have a look on plastic bumpers.

    Hi Jofo,

We have a car accessory shop in the UK, Halfords.  I purchased rubber protector which are made for the corners of car bumpers.    I heated them so that they could be bent around the front of the panion but the self adhesive tape on the back did not hold them very well so I applied 3M tape and this did the trick.   I think they cost about 30 UK ponds for a pair and I have two on each panion.    I have had a stationary drop and the protectors saved the panions.

If someone can explain how I put a photograph on the forum I will give it a try.
