    Hi gang,

finally took possession of my blue Trophy SE this week and being an ex BMW K1600 GTL owner I thought I would share my first impression...

Ride and handling is much better with the Trophy , I find that you control the bike more easily

Ease of move when off the bike, Trophy is easier to move around in garage/parking etc although it remains a heavy bike

Wind protection is MUCH better on Trophy especially for the hands

No wind swirling back and pushing me forward on the Trophy , I understand its not the same for anyone depending on their size and the height they have to raise the screen to but for me its zero buffeting, big plus in my book!!

You get better millage on the Trophy

Rider position is better  ( for me) on the Trophy although the seat itself is more comfy on the K1600GTL

The transmission is MUCH smoother on the Triumph , no click clack when changing speed

More room in the Beemer top case then Trophy

Engine has more power on BMW although I could do little comparison since cant rev the Triumph above 4500 rpm yet but it make sense the BMW will be on top in this category

There you go , my first impression is that a made a VERY good decision to switch!!! :046: :046: :152: :047:

It just gets better my friend. I just rolled 1400 miles on my new trophy and the more I ride it the more I like it. It's an awesome motorcycle

:400: to the forum.  I also came off of a K1600 GTL and concur with all your observations, although after a while you won't even notice a difference in power, the rest of the Trophy will outweigh it.  You will find that the seat will get more comfortable after a few thousand miles, at least mine did, (or could that be from some new callouses?).

    Welcome to the group.
My mother asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "a biker". She said I'd have to choose one or the other.

Congratulations on taking delivery and thanks for your first impressions.  Always good to hear an ex BMW rider confirm they feel they made the right choice.  :028:

Thanks for your post!  While attending the motorcycle show in Long Beach last fall, I couldn't help but be impressed with the big Beemer, particularly the Exclusive version.  Still, at $10k more than the TT SE, I can't see the value.  Besides, with several on this forum reporting the advantages of the Trophy, it more than validates our choices.  I haven't been the least bit sorry yet!

    Hi Michel1960,

    Nice report  :028:

Once the engine has run in you'll notice just how good it is,
and the nice even spread of torque from low through to high revs in any gear  :169:

    Cheers  :821:
