TTSE Blood Bike
« on: April 24, 2015, 09:10:33 pm »
On one of the threads someone was asking to see a TTSE in livery for Blood Bikes.  I saw these images on fB of one of the Northumberland TTSE Blood bikes:

It's what all the cool vampires are riding.

At night, of course.

Being from the U.S., I had no idea what a "Blood Bike" was.  I sounded to me like some kind of crazy Sons of Anarchy, bad-ass wannabe stuff, but I am very impressed with this idea.  No vehicle can get through tight spots in an emergency like a motorcycle.  In this age of irrational international terrorism, I believe that Blood Bikes would be an incredible advantage for first responders.  I do have a question though; One of my first thoughts when viewing your pictures was "where is the Top Box?".  Then I noticed the extra large carriage mount.  I assume that there is some sort of large supply box that quickly mounts there - possibly refrigerated to hold blood or other perishable drugs?

For our other American members, here is a Wikipedia link to "Blood Bikes":  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_bike

Interesting stuff.  I think I may forward this information to my congressman for consideration in this country.    Well done, Great Britain!  :028:

They provide an invaluable volunteer resource to the health service here getting much needed healthcare essentials... Not just blood, organs and medicines too in some areas... Where they are needed quickly and efficiently...

Not only that but as a volunteer you sometimes even get to hare along with blues and twos going on occasion which isn't to be sniffed at!

Ha ha, proof positive that there is a very large ocean between our countries.  What does "hair along with blues and twos" mean.  And, please, speak "English" this time!   :072:

To ride along above the posted speed limits with the blue beacon lights flashing and the two tone sirens alerting people to get out of your way.
