Dropped the Lady today
« on: May 02, 2015, 02:21:30 pm »
Hi all,

Just to share a bit of experience.

I had lunch with my daughter today in Paris.
I found a very nice wide parking place in one of our french bike parking lot delimited with iron bars.

I started the bike and forgot to take care about the right hand sided bar which bounced me (an the lady) to the left.
So the Lady dropped down.

Well, I guess I'm not the only one and as far as I remeber I did the same with the BMW couple of years ago.

The result is quite nothing, minor scratches on the left crash bar, minor scratches on the left filmed pannier and minor scratches on my right leg...

So, for those still wandering wether the crash bars are usefull or not, my only answer is YES.

And keep both eyes opened.

Another reassurance for those of us who have splashed out on crash bars. Glad you're ok and damage was slight :028:

Commiserations jofo... I dropped mine on Wednesday in a car park, taking it off the Centre-Stand..  :138:

Easily done. A moments lapse of concentration...  :157:

Perhaps we should Poll owners to see how many have "done the deed" and who have (so far) escaped.

Also Multiple Offenders can admit their folly with complete anonymity...  :164:

Hi Gordon...

The poll can be a good idea   :046: :046:

It reminds me a post on my favorite BMW forum, where I explained how I felt down with my wife managing (stupidly) a U-Turn in a slope, and how I discovered that I definitely wasn't alone  :745: :745:

I confess, I'm used to drop things (guitars, bikes, bottles...)  :008:

Hard luck Jofo, but thanks for sharing the experience  :028:

If anyone does start a Poll, it should be something like :

Question :  Have you dropped your Trophy ? ( Select from the following answers ) ....

Answer 1 : Yes
Answer 2 : Not Yet !

I'm more worried about you dropping bottles though - Here - have a Refill  :030:
