Tank bag clear plastic/ instructions
« on: June 01, 2015, 06:25:53 pm »
My new triumph tank bag delivered today
1. no instructions as standard ? ( have already found coconuts download page - great help as usual :002:)
2. the clear plastic on the rain cover and map holder was really scruffy. Looks like it has got damp or something en route from China. Have managed to wipe most of the marks off but disappointed it was not  crystal clear on brand new item. I can see the map clearly enough and so can live with it and not sure I can be bothered to return it. Anyone have similar experience ?
cheers
David

Mine was the same David, the clear plastic bit was covered in what I thought was white powder. I've tried washing up liquid to get rid of it but still seems a bit cloudy...

Just got in my tank bag and the (I hesitate to say) clear plastic sure is cloudy looking.  Did a search here hoping someone had a way to get it clear.

My tank bag I bought for the Concours was crystal clear.

I used hot soapy water and elbow grease and it wasn't far off  by the time I finished. I wonder if it is some type of protective coating for manufacture that they have decided to leave on for protection in transit.

davidcumbria, did you find anything that brought back like-new clarity?

I know this is kind of a late post but I just joined the forum a few days ago.   My tank bag came the same way.  Not happy about the map bag or the cover, but a little work and they are what I need.  Hope to enjoy it more this year.

Ride safe.
