    Fork springs rattling

    Hi all

Just wondering if anybody has had issues with the front fork springs rattling. Mine make a terrible noise when ridding over bumpy ground but I haven't seen any other posts with the same problem.

Staffordshire Triumph took a look and confirmed that the noise was excessive and are going to ring Triumph about it on Monday, but as they all seem to work ok I can't see them doing much about it.

Any ideas what might be causing it other than possibly the wrong size springs.

No, mine does do it even on really rough roads, and haven't seen anyone else mention it. Will be interesting to see what the issue is.

No.... Have never had odd noises from the forks even on rough roads... Glad the guys at your dealership agree with the observation though.... Will make things much easier to get a resolution.

    Good luck mate!

    Martin

No cannot say I have heard any rattling from the front suspension. On any road surface.

Glad your dealer is positive and looking into it tho.

Out of interest what year is the bike?

No noise in my forks either.  Hope they sort it for you.  Have you tried different suspension settings to see if that affects it?

Thanks for the replies, it confirms my suspicions that they obviously shouldn't be doing this. It is a 2013 bike. I have tried all the different suspension settings but that makes no difference and all seem to work ok,  lets see what triumph has to say about it on Monday

Well as expected Triumph say there is nothing wrong with my forks. Apparently all forks are made to different tolerances and some rattle some don't, but because mine seem to be working and adjusting ok it is nothing to worry about. Looks like I am going to have to try a different dealer and see if they can get anywhere with the problem

A shame to hear that is the response you have been given.... Especially when the dealer has said they can hear it too.

I would consider a letter direct to Triumph to express how sorry you are that they are taking this response and not supporting their dealer in providing a perfect ownership experience.
