I can't find out what this number means on both my Triumph VIN plates, anyone have any ideas...?

Assuming that's not the VIN Plate for your Trophy, it could be the Build Date,
as in "01" = January, and "08" = 2008.

Does that tie in with the age of the motorcycle it is from,
and do the numbers on the Plate of your other Triumph also correspond to it's age ?

You're right Coconut, it's my Rocket3 which I bought brand new in August 2004 - just after they were made available so I don't think it's the build date.

I stumbled across the TTSE VIN plate a while ago - but now I can't find it again however, I noticed it had a similar number box.
I'll search for it again tomorrow and post the number when found  :002:

I think it might be UK or EU related because your tag looks nothing like the tags on either of my Triumphs.

The mystery is over, it's the Type Approval number.

I can't find the TTSE plate again ~ but no matter as we now know what the number's about.  :002:
