New member from Washington State

Hello, I am new to the forum and new to the Triumph Trophy. I previously owned a 2006 Yamaha Royal Star Midnight Venture and a 1986 Yamaha Venture Royale before that. So owning something out of my comfort zone is new and exciting. What I bought is a 2014 Pacific blue Triumph Trophy se. I picked it up in Vancouver Washington as a used bike, but with extremely low mileage and many many extra accessories. I have had it now for about 2 1/2 weeks and am thoroughly loving it. Additionally I as honestly surprised to find a forum dedicated to this amazing work of art. I hope to enjoy this bike for many years to come. I had been looking for a new motorcycle for quite some time, and originally had set my mind on a Victory Cross Country Tour, but the price for a new one was just a little out of my reach. I had been researching several other bikes as well, but not as seriously. When I noticed this one, I immediately started researching it. The more I read the more excited I got, and now I am enjoying a truly worthwhile decision, sincerely Jetman.

Were you also a member of the Yamaha Venture Forum?

There are some differences you will notice with the TTSE compared to the Venture. Such as the diesel like noise, the higher RPM's and such. With my 84 Venture, I am sometimes in 4th gear thinking I am in 5th. With the TTSE, it's the opposite. I keep on trying to shift  to the nonexistent seventh gear.

When I first looked at the RSV, it really turned me off. Seems like Yamaha stripped down the bike so much it was almost a Harley. Doesn't compare to the old Venture in most ways, other than a great engine and tranny.

My experience with finding out about the TTSE was about the same as yours. I first heard it mentioned in the above Yamaha Venture Forum. When I checked it out, my first reaction was WOW! Before that, I was thinking about buying a new BMW K1600GTL. The TTSE made me lose interest in the K1600GTL quite fast.

However, it seems, for whatever reasons, the TTSE is a rather poor seller in the USA compared to Harley and Honda, etc.
