New Storm Avon tires

Well planing a trip and thinking about changing out before i leave.. 

have the michelin s on now with over 14k on them   

Anyone try the new Avon storms yet... please send me any feed back...   go to price them out this week compared to michilins

Never had the Michelin but replaced the Pirellis with Avon Storm 3 D and must confess I'm totally happy with them, both on wet and dry. Mileage seems to be good as well, put more than 12000 kms on the rear when I changed it.
An old biker must be a good rider

I have had two sets of the Avon 3D XM's and was happy with them. They worked great in wet or dry. One thing you want to do is to run 41 PSI in the front tire. My first front started cupping at 5000 miles and the second lasted much longer with the increase in pressure.

My stock tires started to cup even  before 5K.

I am glad I saw this post as I have 400 miles on my new 3D XM's. So you use 41 psi in the front?

Still 42 psi in the rear?

Yes 41 front, 42 rear. One thing I have learned in 26,000 miles is that the Trophy (or maybe the pilot  :164: ) is hard on front tires. The weight is biased to the front and I tend to use the front brake a good bit which puts even more weight to the front.

i dont have my avon 's yet  but sure thinking about it///

I do run my front michelin around 40 due to cupping... back reg 43  have 14000k on them 

I always liked avons on my gold wings years ago.... going to compare price to michs
